ICOP installed 400 Geopier X1® System rammed aggregate piers to support three structures’ wall foundations, columns, and slabs, along with up to 100 feet of a nearby retaining wall. To install the X1® System, ICOP modified a pile driving rig with an X1® mandrel, predrilled to depth, added stone, and built the stone columns.
The Geopiers treated the uncontrolled fill and loose, sandy soils on the site, controlling settlement of the building wall (up to one inch) and retaining wall (up to six inches).
The project required an especially tight timeline — the ICOP team designed and constructed within a narrow window of just six weeks.
To overcome multiple grades on site, the ICOP team also needed to perform extensive grading coordination.
